Ingleton Viaduct

Started four days holiday today. Our destination was Ingleton.

The M6 drive up was laborious, but we eventually arrived at around 2:00pm. Finding the guest house by the bridge was locked, we headed up the hill into the village centre and to Bernies Cafe for beans and toast and a mug of tea. By three we were back at the guest house to coincide with the return of our hosts, Carlos and Suzanne. After being shown to our room, we took a wander to the start of the waterfalls trail, but seeking how it would be dark quite soon, decided to take a short route towards Thornton Hall and back via Thornton in Lonsdale, followed by a quick look in the pottery.

I can recommend the burgers at the Wheatsheaf. Comes with proper chips and a delicious salad.

Cath was pooped by early evening, so I nipped back to the Wheatsheaf later on for a few, and was entertained by a guy who wandered in, pulled up a stool by the bar and, after downing his first pint, popped open his guitar case and began to play and sing.
