For sheer beauty of colours, there is nowhere quite like Biddulph Grange Garden, a National Trust property just outside Stoke-on-Trent. And the highlight of this Victorian treat must be the area known as China.

I was due to visit last week, with a friend, but as it was pouring down and there is virtually nowhere under cover in the garden, we relocated for our day out to Trentham.

The weather wasn't perfect today. And it was the half term holiday (which spawns silly skeletons and pumpkins).

But the autumn colours were more wonderful than ever.
