Špiro Brusina

Špiro Brusina is the man with a shell. I've no idea who the other dramatis personae in this shot are.

The bronze statue of Špiro Brusina outside the University of Zadar must be one of the most photographed things in the city. I was there to meet some colleagues with whom I spent the morning discussing my projects and theirs. It was a brilliantly sunny day again, as you can see, and so later on I went swimming, although by the time I did the sea was by no means so flat. However, I didn't make such a song and dance about getting out of the water as I did on Tuesday, but that was partly because I was (a) careful not to swim at low tide and (b) careful to swim where there are longer ladders available for getting out of the water.
