Christmas starts early

Came home early tonight as I thought we might go to John Lewis to get a new dishwasher. Earlier the repairman came out to look at the one in the new flat. Turns out the main water inlet tank and feel system has been damaged. It could be repaired but he didn’t think it would be worth it as it’s so old.
J didn’t want to go as she had seen a few online. Headed down to Lidl to get the weekly shop done. Decided that even if it isn’t November yet the offer of an 18 month matured Christmas pud was too good to turn down and it’ll keep in the cellar.
Came back for tea and while J chose a new dishwasher and freezer I made pastry for the pudding on Saturday night.
We were due to get the new sofa bed delivered as well today. The delivery slot was from 7am to 10am. No delivery by 9.50 so I called up to be informed that the driver had called in sick. I was then offered either tomorrow or Sunday. As we can’t take tomorrow off work it had to be Sunday. I was then told the delivery time would be between 7am and 10am. At this point they were informed that I wouldn’t be getting up a 7am on a Sunday because their driver had called in sick. We have agreed on 9am instead. Hopefully it will arrive sometime after 9 as Saturday night might be a bit of a session.
