Paw drinking

Paddy is the first cat I have lived with who drinks from his paw. According to Google it's not uncommon and there are a variety of explanations. As far as Paddy goes, he has drunk like this since he arrived here at 8 weeks old. He does the same wherever he is drinking whether it is from a pond or, as in this blip, a freshly filled (dog) water bowl.
