Black & Green: Ribbonwood & Carex

The end of the week is here at last, so after getting home tonight me and the dogs had a mooch around the garden to see what we could find.

Tonight's weekly theme shot features the base of one of our ribbonwoods in the garden. This is one the the five trees that were originally on the property when we first bought it. We planted the grasses around them to soften the trunks a bit, and to give a nice handy hiding place for dog balls and clucky chickens. Apparently.

This is the first shot with my Fujinon 35mm f/1.4 lens. I reckon we're going to get along famously. Today I also ordered my Fuji X-T1 from the good chaps at Photo and Video in Merivale. The move to Fuji fulltime begins here...
