Watching the 'beautiful game'

Friends gather at a local cafe to watch Benfica play Rio Ave. Outside is the smoking area, a Benfica wall calendar betrays where loyalties lie. Benfica, short for Sporting Lisboa e Benfica was the club favoured by the dictatorship that ended in the 'carnation' revolution of 1974. It still sports a rather fascist eagle and still has one of the largest number of members of any football clubs in the world. Not that their football is that brilliant; more likely old habits die hard.
