Halloween
We were unsure what Halloween would be like this year since it's the first one in our new house.
It turned out to be amazing!!
The evening started off slowly. Kerr went to his friend N's Anchor Boy party as a guest. He came home and our friends popped round with L and we exchanged trick or treat goodies for the kids.
I had made up 30 bags of treats, 2 batches of tablet and had some large tubs of sweets on standby as emergency if we needed them.
Mack has been very frightened of masks and costumes today. He was ok at his toddler party this morning although only kept his monkey costume on for a short while before he wanted it off. He was terrified of Kerr's skeleton mask and Daddy also freaked him out with a gorilla mask. So he ended up going to bed at his normal time tonight. Maybe next year he will be up for some Halloween fun.
Kerr and I went out guising. We were just going to go to the two neighbours across the road who we know, but they started telling us of other houses to visit.
The decorations were brilliant. Everyone was inviting us inside, we did dooking for apples in someone's kitchen, people had whole rooms decorated, gardens were adorned with hanging ghosts, skeletons etc. One house which everyone recommended visiting and is apparently famous for being the 'spooky house' was amazing. It is a retired school teacher who I remember, and her husband. They were both dressed up and their entire house was unrecognisable. They took us in and through to their back room but everywhere was covered in spooky sheets and decorations, it didn't even feel like we were in a house.
We then walked up to Gran and Grandpa's house to see them before heading back home with a full bag of treats and a very tired skeleton.
We got home and most of our bags had gone. Daddy said he had had around 25 guisers at the door.
We are very impressed that this area seems to do Halloween so well. We now feel the pressure to up our game next year with the decorations - I've already been on googling where to buy some!
