Camera Obscura, Edinburgh

Whenever Max is at a loose end and given the choice of places to go, he asks to go to the Camera Obscura. He loves it when his body conducts electricity from the big ball and makes the fluorescent tube light up. I don't always manage to get a good picture, but this one demonstrates the effect. The Camera Obscura has been a tourist attraction since the 1850s and one of the highlights is still to visit the original 'dark room' and see the images of Edinburgh projected onto the viewing table. The kids love the trick where you 'pick up the people' and throw them around.
