Kelp

Enormous kelp on the beach. You see the little basket shape of its roots at the top edge? It is hard like the rock it has been attached to!
These are about 7 meters long and my friend here in Florence, the "Kelplady" makes beautiful big pieces of art out of them, after much and long processing. They are not small and I might show a picture of one of her pieces here one day.
We are going to have dinner together tonight.
