Day 6 - clue 6

Today we set off to find this magnificent Neolithic temple site which was found and excavated in 1919. It must have been such an exciting find as the ruins are the only ones that show such elaborate decoration from that date. Fabulous carvings on the stones including animals and flowers. Personally I rather liked this statue or what remained of it. They say if it was complete it would stand around 3 metres high. Having left here we headed to the museum of Archaeology and saw lots of finds from this and other sites nearby. Fascinating. I think I would have enjoyed studying archaeology.

Last day tomorrow - it has been such fun and wonderfully warm. The people are so friendly and the hotel has been extremely comfortable.
