Strasbourg - Ponts Couverts
I was up and out early this morning - at 8.30am hardly anyone was around, it was just me and a few pigeons! There was a mist hovering over the city, shrouding the cathedral spire from view. It is so tall that the top of it could not be seen at all. It was lovely to walk around and take photos without the crowds - not even the cafes were open and the squares were empty of the usual tables and chairs from the restaurants.
When the mist cleared and it became a sunny day, I went on a very interesting boat tour around the city, seeing all the old parts of the city and also all the new buildings of the European Parliament. It was very interesting and a worthwhile thing to do.
Then Luke arrived from Munich and we walked all over the city. This is the view from Barrage Vauban of the Ponts Couverts. which consists of four fortified towers built as a defence for the city. It was a beautiful day and this is the colour of the sky with no filters or adjustments!
Luke showed me his accommodation and we walked all over the university too. I seem to have walked all day since early this morning. I am now taking Luke out for supper and then will be ready for an early night while he goes out with some friends.
