The Elland Round Table bonfire was well attended and the centre of town was packed out with people and parked cars. I decided to retire and watch the show from a safe distance so I walked in pitch-black conditions using the light of my phone screen through the woods and onto the disused railway viaduct which is about half a mile away from the display. It was a bit spooky being up there alone in the darkness with only a tripod for company.

There were worries that the charity event would have to be cancelled after travellers moved on to the display site last week, however they left the site in time for the bonfire and firework display to go ahead.
