At Long Last

Diablos Diary, Very big day today, Back under saddle for the first time in 6 months. What a night to start him into work, fireworks going off all over the place and a howling rattling rustling wind to boot.
His cheeky self has fully returned and when we had led him up to the school Rachel let go of him to put on some music to drown out the fireworks and instead of doing his usual and going straight to the mirrors to stand and admire himself or talk to his twin, we are never sure which, he dropped to his knees and lay down to roll!! This is the horse that only ever lies down in his box or rolls in the field when he is absolutely sure no one is watching. However we got him up before he did any damage and from there he was a wee star and took it all in his stride more or less. tho wasn't too impressed that he is only getting to do walk, but it will be a good opportunity to go over all the basics again and he will just have to get over himself.
Yesterday, while he was sedated for the dentist, Rachel took full advantage of his dopey state and managed to get him clipped and pull his mane and trim his feathers so he is looking stunning. It is so nice to see him with a shiny coat and a twinkle in his eye again after months of box rest.
