Samhain

A lovely blipmeet. My 2 lovely friends, who my daughter and I met last year when we went to Iceland, are currently over visiting London, and then up to us in Oxfordshire.

We took them to prehistoric Wiltshire today, to see Avebury, Silbury Hill and West Kennet Longbarrow. We stumbled upon a large group of Pagans celebrating the festival of Samhain in the inner sanctuary of the Avebury stone circle, by calling out the quarters. Here he is calling out to the West, which is the water.

'Guardians of the West, powers of water, you are the emotions and pure love. Gentle dolphin of the waves who is moving dew of torrential rain. I call upon and invite your presence to witness this rite.'
