the goodness of a 602

602 is the model number of our dear old jøtul stove. this stove has served us well for more than a dozen years of bitter cold northeastern winters. now due to a severe crack in the firebox, we will be replacing it with an identical twin. it seems fitting to give thanks for all those years of faithful service. it kept us warm through power failures and ice storms. it kept pipes from freezing and children from crying. it warmed bread, cooked soup, thawed mittens and made an entire family of five very happy. tonight i am trying to soak up all of that goodness to pass on to its twin.
