Ok on a serious note, this lake is drinking water for over a million people. Currently it is down 52 meters from being full. When it is full there is 587 kilometers of shoreline. All kinds of recreation is available on this lake. This reservoir was created by the Shasta Dam that was built between 1935 to 1945.
