Sauvie Island, Collins Beach UFO

We were on Sauvie Island today walking along the shoreline and enjoying the beautiful fall weather. En route we had to give some directions...

Man: Ahoy there! Have you seen a UFO somewhere along this beach?
Us: Yes!
Man: Oh thank goodness, we've been looking all over for it. How far is it from here?
Us: It's only about ten minutes that way down the beach.
Man: Is it easy to see?
Us: Yes, you can see it along the tree line.
Man: Thanks!

The man then mimicked a bird call to alert his friend who called back from some distance away and off he went along the water's edge repeating the call so his friend could locate him.

Thankfully we'd passed this bizarre alien structure 10 minutes before otherwise this conversation could have been confusing and perhaps a little disturbing! :-)

I've not been able to find out much about this UFO/boat/house/pod/whatever but came across this silly local news item which doesn't shed much light on it. Kind of nice to have a mystery.
