A London landmark

Today (Friday 31st Oct) I was treated to a trip to London to see the Poppies at the Tower. The train journey, my first in years, was memorable in that at least 90% of passengers were using an iphone, ipad or some other device throughout the 3hrs of the journey!!!

The visit was made even more memorable by the thousands of people flocking around the Tower and all along the river walks and the heat (78 degrees).

We managed to get some lovely shots of the poppies but the picture I liked best was this of the Dome of St Paul's which reminded me of one of the iconic wartime shots, of it emerging from the smoke of a wartime raid on the City.

Today the light was lovely as it lit the dome, which with its classical looks, eclipsed all the other buildings around it.
