Don't Kiss the Broken One

3M's sister Janette and brother-in-law are visiting this weekend and as it was a sunny morning we took them up to the Port of Ness where J did the worst impersonation of Meryl Streep that I've ever encountered. We then went to the Butt of Lewis lighthouse where, to add injury to insult <sic>, J slipped and broke her ankle. Luckily she is on the Isle of Lewis because the totally superb Coastguard and Ambulance service responded quicker than you could hope for. Unfortunately they gave her gas and air to ease the pain which then caused her to start singing "Stornoway". Well, that's what I was told, I just thought she was wailing in pain. Good news is that it's a clean break, bad news is she ain't going home tomorrow. But she is in more than capable hands at the Western Isles Hospital.

Update: It transpires that Janette has broken 3 bones, fibula, lateral malleollus and medial malleollus. All from slipping on muddy ground. Which just goes to show: Sensible shoes/boots, people, not Ugg like rubbish.
