Braydeston Church

Into Norfolk today with my oldest son for lunch with my parents and then a tea party with some of my in-laws.

This is the church where I was married. It's also where my parents-in-law are buried along with quite a number of other members of my husband's family. The church is in a very remote spot, accessible only via a dirt track, surrounded by fields of cows and rolling hills. Very 'Wuthering Heights'!

The village of Braydeston no longer exists; it's been gradually absorbed into the neighbouring village of Brundall which is where I grew up. Although I lived in the village of Brundall, our house was in the old parish of Braydeston which meant I could get married in this church. It was always a very pretty church but the recent extension, the advertising A-board in the porch, water butts and traffic cones (why?!) rather spoil the effect.
