Curbar Edge

Smitten by the uncanny warm weather, we drove over to the Peak District for more time on the tops, parking in Clodhall Lane above Curbar. Cath wasn't feeling too well but she ploughed on and pulled through. The flat land above the edge is known as Big Moor, and here are dozens of exquisite birches. Some on their own, others in tidy groups. I could so happily have posted another tree shot.

All this heavenliness was followed by beans on toast in Bakewell and a drive home in the dark.

This shot is from Curbar Edge looking south along the Derwent Valley to the Chatsworth Estate in the late afternoon.
