The Chocolate Factory
Coming home from Burntisland this afternoon, after visiting the Family Dog. G was driving, so I was able to have a better look around than usual. This plant, Mossmorran, produces Ethylene.
Although it is just outside Cowdenbeath on the way to Burntisland, because of the topography sometimes when they are burning off excess product we can see the flame reflected on the clouds at Methven, many miles away. It's a disturbing sight: looks as if the clouds are on fire, roiling and rolling across the sky.
Once I was bringing the children back to mine while it was really dark, and Arlo was struck by the night-time beauty of this plant. With its many lights at night it does look a bit like a fairy castle or such. However, as he had just finished reading Charlie and the Chocolate Factory he was heavily influenced by that, and asked me if it was THE chocolate factory.
Of course I told him the truth, that it was not, but ever since I like to imagine how nice it would be if it were!
A beautiful autumn day, with just a few very light showers on the way home, which produced wonderful rainbows against a dark and sultry sky. Sadly, my photos of it taken from the moving car did not turn out too well, so the Chocolate Factory is the blip for today.
And so the weekend ends ..........................
