Pun Intended

We got an early start on our drive home, with Mary at the wheel. Somewhere along Interstate 5, we saw exit signs for a Subway Sandwich Shop and decided to stop for a quick lunch. Mary had been raving about their tuna subs, so we ordered one to split and added a small bag of jalapeño flavored potato chips for some crunch. I almost laughed out loud when I saw the birds perched on this sign as we got back into the van. I was certain they would fly away before I could grab my camera, but they were still posing. That was my sign!
When we reached Mary's house she realized that she had left her key at home (no need for it when you are 8 hours away) and her husband had locked the house when he left for work in the morning. She assured me that she would go to a neighbor's house and wait--after all, it was nearly 3PM and a bright, sunny day outside. I later received a text from her that she had used an old real estate trick and broken in through one of the window screens. Very resourceful, I thought.
