Rain in the desert
Usually the ocotillo is bare and brown at this time of year. Instead, it sports new green leaves as a result of unaccustomed autumn rains, and the sahuaro cacti are making babies.
I have spent time with my grandson, who I hadn't seen since 2006, and I've met his wife and my two great-grandchildren. Pictures tomorrow, I hope.
Replaced the cactus picture with this one of flat-roofed buildings, cars, gravel yards, and swamp coolers hiding among desert plants against a mountain backdrop.
