To Absent Friends
To absent friends ....a peoples festival of storytelling and remembrance 1 - 2 November .
An opportunity to openly talk about and remember our loved ones who have died.
I have spoke several times about my Dad who died in an accident 2 years ago on Blip because it's easier to do it here, I still find it quite difficult face to face with people because I'm scared of becoming an emotional wreck, not a pretty sight, and me of all people being a Palliative Care Nurse should know better .
So here goes,
My Dad, what can I say?
He made me laugh, he made us all laugh and that's what I miss the most.
He sang songs at parties, singing a song by the Corries while playing the tune on a bottle or a can.
He played footie with the boys and wrestled with them on the ground, ( which he and Ross were just doing prior to this picture).
He knew everything about houses and knew how to fix a leaking roof, a squeaky floor board, fit a loft ladder and most of all he knew how to fix bikes!!
He cycled for miles and miles on his bike, he loved the fresh air and he loved the beautiful scenery. The spot where he died out on his bike has a beautiful view across the Clyde.
But most of all he loved us, unconditionally.
