Lace's Caves

Been to the top of the Lake District for a couple of days staying at my sisters in the bus - been lovely.

We walked to Lace's Caves today which was a really nice walk. The story behind them is that Colonel Lacy of Salkeld Hall had 5 chambers carved out of the stone to impress guests at the time of Victorian follies. Rumour also has it that he hired a man to live in them as a hermit! The caves are awesome and well worth a visit.
