Blood Red Saturday

Made the trip and was amazed by the endless swarms of poppys and visitors at the Tower Of London.
The installation entitled Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red commemorates the life of fallen British and colonial soldiers from WW1. It has seen 8,000 volunteers place 888,246 ceramic poppies into the dry moat, and is due to be removed after Remembrance Day on November 11.
The flowers, which each took three days to make, have all been sold for charity and will be plucked from the ground and sent to buyers when the exhibit closes. It is expected to raise £11.2 million for charities which serve British veterans, including Help for Heroes and The Royal British Legion.
