Local Duck Pond, Oud Gastel

It was Princess L's eighth birthday today, and I did take a shot of her, but I must be careful with posting too many shots of her online, although she doesn't mind at all and, in fact, enjoys getting shot. We attended her party and hung around for hours.

After the initial cup of tea and apple pie, I told her mother I'd like to take a look at the local duck pond, which happens to be almost next to their house, and savour the balmy spring autumn air. Princess L was going to accompany me on her new skeelers (inline skates) but, then, new guests arrived, with presents, of course, and so she felt it only decent to attend to them. She is a very decent, polite, well-mannered, intelligent, cheerful and friendly young lady who gets fab marks at school and engages in judo, rock-climbing, and fashion modelling, not necessarily in that order.

The walk took an hour because I explored the whole pond, and Flickred it here for you.

According to the news, yesterday, 1 November, was the warmest ever recorded ever since they started weather measurements and forecasts in 1884 -- a whopping 22 degrees Celsius. The beaches were occupied as well as the cafe terraces. I walked around in sandals and without a coat. They keep warning us it won't last too long now, but we don't care and will do our best to enjoy it for as long as we are able.
