Yeah...it's rained all day....

which meant i couldn't dig up turnips.....oh dear, what a disappointment...not! Instead i put on the woodstove over in the mudroom, and with the painting studio space still open upstairs, i spent a few hours doing this image. I've done this one 4-5 times now, and i keep coming back to it. So, i think i'll try and copy Marla's 100 variations challenge with this composition! I'm not finished with this one yet, i need to let it sit and perculate away in my subconscious. But it was a fabulous day over there. I also need the fire on to dry out the pots that need to go into the kiln tomorrow!!! Just as an aside here: the painting only takes up the part that is sort of outlined...that little blobby thing in the left hand lower corner is the thumbnail i started with!

I also did a bit of work on this image that i did over the course of the weekend workshop with Marla. It was interesting to see that we both choose very similiar compositions and places. I already had mine started when she began her demo.

Also, as many of you will be aware, there is a very disturbing situation unfolding here in Canada. one of the most beloved personalities on CBC, Jian ghomeshi is being investigated for horrendous sexual abuse and violence.....it is all over the media. I'm totally stunned, he was one of my absolute favorites, listened to him most mornings in the studio. What is so amazing is the outpouring of stories about his alleged abusive behaviour!

So, as a bit of an antidote to all this painful and disturbing information, here are some amazing women having an awesome time.....
