A good read

This is part of the introduction to one of my favourite books, John Steinbeck's Cannery Row. It's getting to the point where I must read it again.

His description here of his method for constructing the book here reminds me somewhat of Blip - I guess Joe opened the pages and let the stories crawl in by themselves!

I was in the office all day so took a back up book-blip in case I couldn't find anything else - but since the books in question were all different varieties of mathematics I'm glad I didn't have to use it as it might have induced some severe allergic reactions. ;-)
