MONO MONDAY: Old and New, Replacement

Gate valves or Tobies,these are normally found at the boundary of your property and are used to shut the water off to your house. The one on the left is an Old one I removed from a job,this is a screw down tap that had a jumper inside the valve, much like the garden hose tap and by screwing this down it would shut the water off. When these are faulty we replace them with the New Accuflow Manifold. The top assemble where the tap handle is can be replaced and has a diaphragm that seals over the inlet and stops the water. The large barrel has a double check valve (backflow prevention) this can be removed and a restrictor put in its place where tank systems are used and properties are limited to a daily intake. The top seal cap can be taken off and a water meter installed for Leak detection or Billing. This is my Entry for MonoMonday
