All Souls' Day

Like El Dia de los Muertos, All Souls' Day is a day of remembrance of and prayer for the dead. In Mexico and in other cultures, offering food is an important part of these holidays. In Brittany, relatives serve dinner to their departed loved ones, and in the evening in Tirol, cakes are left on a table in a warm and welcoming room.

So my version is like the above but includes shades of the Japanese Obon, or Festival of the Lantern. As in Japan, the outside front porch lights are on to welcome loved ones home. Japanese cakes (mochi) sit on a table with flowers and a picture of loved ones. In this case, it's Braden and Jim. Good thing I applied an effect since they never did like that picture and would not want it all over blipfoto. They both felt they looked like dweebs, but it's the only one I have. :)

I've been so enjoying all the holiday photos around here, and thanks for stopping by. I do appreciate it~
