The Pink Cross, Preston Hall

Day 305 of 365. It was such a beautiful, almost balmy day today and very luckily I had the day off today. So I decided to do my favourite thing and just go for a long walk with my camera (via a stop off for a beer by the river!). The light and shadow was stunning today and made even the most mundane, everyday things look beautiful. Today's shot was a case in point - this plastic piping with the pink cross holding it in place was almost lost in the dark shadows under some trees and then there was a sudden shaft of light and it seemed to glow out of the darkness. I'm not sure tthis is what they are looking for in Lovers of Light but I'm going to enter it anyway - after all beauty is in the eye of the beholder!
