China collection. About ten years ago my father gave us his mother's dinner service. Made by Royal Doulton in the 1920s, it consisted of several different sized plates and some serving dishes. We began to wonder whether there was more and over many years, via eBay we have collected bowls, cups and saucers and jugs. Last month we spotted a monster set for sale in the USA, it has arrived in five badly packed boxes over a week. We unpacked in great trepidation, several pieces were broken in each box. But not all is lost and although we have enough plates for a banquet and a few sets of five instead of six we also have a teapot and toast rack. Hurrah!
