In the Highlands
This is taken on the A939 on the way to Timintoul, a road made famous by the traffic news and Terry Wogan as it is typically the first road in Scotland to be closed by snow. Despite being an "A" road, parts of it are single width with passing places, but it is very scenic as it passes through the mountains towards Corgarff.
A month or so ago the hills were purple with the heather, now the hills are largely brown. The hillside does not look as though it carries much food, but out of frame there are a lot of sheep finding something to eat in the tundra.
The day was sunny and felt quite warm, unseasonably so for early November.
