Bad luck nest?

I was delighted when one of the kids brought this in from their garden. Later on someone told me it's bad luck to take a nest from a tree. I said 'Oh but I think they were cutting down the trees in the garden anyway, and they found this'. 'Thats probably double bad luck then!'
I hope not...
