Through the gap

What an in inviting track this is.

Its at Arnfield and leads on to Tintwistle Knarr and the open moorlands on the Dark Peak towards Black Hill.

A first sighting since last Winter of visiting birds from the continent with 30+ Fieldfare and a few Brambling with at least some Redwing (already seen a few weeks ago).The most exciting bird seen was a marvelous Green Woodpecker - I was too slow off the mark to get his photo having a good look and then it managed to move out of direct view again and again as I tried to move around it.

A beautiful clear sky for a lot of the day a with a welcome chill in the air.
