The Light...

I nipped in to Huddersfield Parish Church at lunchtime to light a candle and say a prayer as it would have been my mum's birthday.

At the front of the church is a candle in a glass vessel. The candle was lit by the Mayor of Kirklees and the Bishop of Wakefield on Sunday 3 August. It will remain alight until Sunday 11 November 2018 in commemoration of the Centenary of WW1 which lasted 4 years, 3 months and a week.
