The Glass House.
Mono Monday: Old & New.
The Glass House is luxury 'boutique' hotel at the top of Leith Walk in Edinburgh and part of the (relatively new, 2002) Omni Centre. It's Gothic facade is all that remains of the 150 year old Lady Glenorchy Parish Church which fell from ecclesiastical use in 1978.
The beautiful facade is listed partly for it's contribution to the former street scape, but to me, this combination of old and new has always looked a bit wrong. Sorry.
Thanks to Skeena for hosting.
