On My Way Back To The Old Home
Took a walk up to the other croft to check the cows up there, mainly because one of them will calve sometime in the next few weeks. I like the view from there, looking down to the house but one thing that always stuns me is the dry stone walls. When you think of the skill and the back breaking labour that went into building these you appreciate how lucky we are with all our modern tools and ways of transporting materials. Everytime we had builders for the house they would stop, stare and express admiration of their predecessors work. And not a bit of plaster board in sight.
