Past, present & future of a spectacular building
This is a section of the exterior of the Watts Mortuary Chapel which is a Grade 1 Listed Chapel. The Arts and Crafts building is the final resting place for G F and Mary Watts and Aldous Huxley. In 1895, Mary Watts set up classes to instruct the local villagers how to model tiles from the local clay. Today we can be amazed at this stunning building with its beautiful symbolic patterns. It is visited by many people from across the world. Such interest in this small village in Surrey secures the future of such a magnificent building.
Today's blip - times past, the present and a national treasure for future generations.
