Otters do exist
According to all the hype we live in one of the best places in the country to see Otters. The tourist board sells the Hebrides as a natural safari and I imagine many visitors arrive knowing they will see an Otter.
We haven't seen one since coming back from France and I reckon I get out and about as much as anyone. We had mused that perhaps the Western Isles Tourist Board have a few stuffed Otters they put out on occasion to keep the world happy.
Today however I had proof that they do exist.
Apologies for the not great photo but I only got one image as I was doing something else at the time. What I can hear you ask? Talking with the county archaeologist about a site we had discovered is the answer and you can see the class of the company I am now keeping! I am glad to say that although slightly frowned upon there is still some scope for the glorious amateur in the world of Hebridean archaeology.
And amateurs are allowed to look at otters whilst surveying a potential site!
