Chvrches

Off to the Barras to see Chvrches , and very good they were to.

Evening started off with hip hop artist Lizzo. Now hip hop is not my favourite by a long shot but by Christ the big lass had some charisma. Ended up a thoroughly entertaining support with her asking that "all the ladeeze in the room shake yo tits". The request was not widely taken up and Lizzo herself had to do most of the shaking. Like I said, not my cup of tea but the lass can get a room moving.

Chvrches themselves were really a lot better than I feared they might be but given the fact they've been on the road for 22 months and the two blokes have a long history in bands, they were polished enough. Lauren Mayberry had a great singing voice but had that squeaky weegie thing going on when speaking and it was easier to understand big Lizzo fae Detroit.

Finished the evening off with a wander down the Barras gig path, a fine diversion to see what you'd seen and when and more to the point what you had missed!!
