Our Resident Lizard
Sunning himself on
his rocky mansion without
any cares at all

I'm not sure if this is Larry or one of his kin, (see here), but we still have a lizard in residence. I was happy to see that at least one had survived the long, hot summer.
D has a gadget that records the highest and lowest temperature both indoors and outside in the period we were away. (mid March to beginning November). It says that the highest temperature outside in our absence was 59 degrees Celcius. The inside of the house got up to 40 degrees Celsius.
Despite hiring someone to water for us, the citrus trees have taken a beating this summer. The little lemon tree looks very stressed. It has lost leaves and fruit. The orange tree has faired somewhat better, although the fruit is small and sunburned. Must rethink our watering plan for next year. In the past the underground system has failed with lines popping and flooding the yard. Everything has to operate in extreme temperatures. It's tough living on the desert!
