Sugar-dusted rose
Out to the roses this morning, being rather taken with the tiny dew on the petals. I took this rather trepidatiously, being that it's a red rose - a very red rose - and I often find it next-to-impossible to avoid blowing the red highlights to hell and gone. I had to try though, and I'm glad I did.
I shot this rose both at f/2.8, and at f/5.6. 2.8 because I'm a little bit keen on shooting wide-open a lot this month, just to see what the lens is really like in the sharpness stakes if I'm careful to get focus; 5.6 because I really wanted this sharp, and I figured that 2.8 wouldn't cut it.
This is 2.8:
Large is good.
Flickr is gooderer.
5.6 was ok, but this was the better.
