Bonfire

A good start to the day with clear blue skies and a touch of frost. The loch was busy with herons, rock doves and possibly few mergansers, the group too far away to be sure. On the walk over a buzzard flew from a tree and in turn upset two hinds and a stag, I couldn't focus in time to capture even a reasonable shot of the back end of the stag. And then a rabbit bounced into view and scuttled into the frozen bracken making a wonderful racket.

Two herons provided the entertainment but not a decent shot, there is a stream of shots showing one heron dip into the water, next shot a fish in its beak the next an open beak of appreciation perhaps and then another dip in. The ones that got away.
