Old Bat

lucky dip(per)

The sun drew me to Cramond, just as the tide was coming in. There were lots of pink-footed geese, red shanks, a wedge (!!??) of curlews, lapwings, and other birds that I can't recognise. I wandered up river and saw a dopping of female goosanders, one male and what I assume was a spotty teenage male. I also spent a long time watching this dipper bobbing in and out of the water, which was running pretty fast but the bird didn't seem to have any bother.
