From Stromness
I went to Stromness to meet Rachael, a colleague, who has joined the RSPB but isn't too familiar with birds. We walked along Ness Point as far as Warbeth and I identified the birds as we went. It wasn't too exciting, species-wise, with herons, eider, mallards, shags, redshanks, turnstones etc.
I posted a view of the sea, but much later at home I noticed the moon was bright and, when I opened the door to look at it, I saw this halo. Not a moonbow, it seems, just a halo, although a much larger example than the one that floats above my own head.
