Machu Picchu in Peru
This sacred village/temple built high on the mountain top
was built in 1450 for the Inca Emperor it is believed. A
century later, the Spaniards overpowered the Incas and
destroyed all Inca temples they could find in the name
of Christianity and built churches from the ruins. This temple,
so high on a mountain, was not discovered until 1910 and
since has become a wonder of the world. The trip up
on a bus was a hair-raising one, but worth every moment.
We just had to not look down as the bus snaked around
hair pin turns, up and up!
I will post one more close-up of Macho Picchu. Please search
for it.
